On Monday, June 17th, 2024, I got up around noon and left my house in the evening to head to Japanese archery practice. My language school was off today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While I was walking around the neighborhood, white flowers growing on a grassy verge caught my eye. This plant might be yarrow, also called <\/span>Seiyo Nokogiriso<\/span><\/i> in Japanese. “<\/span>Seiyo<\/span><\/i>” means western, “n<\/em><\/span>okogiri<\/span><\/i>” means saw, and “<\/span>so<\/span><\/i>” means grass in English.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As this Japanese name suggests, the shape of the leaf is similar to that of a saw. At the same time, it reminded me of the leaf of a conifer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other than yarrow, I noticed a pale red flower around the neighborhood. I wasn\u2019t sure of its name, but guessed that it was a blackberry.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
