style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Saturday, August 10th, 2024, I got up at 11:00 a.m. PST and left my house at 4:00 p.m. to head to Japanese archery practice. The gym where we usually practice was being used by another organization, so we were unable to practice as planned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would like to review my experience at the language school, as I graduated from it yesterday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, I introduce the advantages of the school. The classes I participated in were always interesting for several reasons: teachers prepared well to teach, and the school offered a variety of classes. I preferred classes where students researched and discussed social problems in Canada or around the world. The class focusing on how to give presentations was also one of my favorites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Secondly, many teachers had lived in foreign countries such as Japan and Taiwan. In my opinion, they understood the circumstances of international students well and had vast knowledge, thus they were good at providing appropriate topics during classes or small talk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In contrast, I think there is a significant disadvantage: the conversations at the school were completely different from those outside. Members of the Japanese archery club speak much faster than teachers, probably because teachers adjust their speaking speed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This difference means that learning English outside of school is necessary for improving skills. Teachers also recognized this, and some teachers recommended that I make opportunities to talk with local people. The importance of \u201chomework\u201d is proven by my experience, as my writing skills have improved by continuing to write a blog in English. In terms of a writing test, I scored higher than my classmates.
