On Monday, September 2nd, 2024, I got up around 1:00 p.m. PST and left my house in the evening to head to Japanese archery practice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today was a holiday called Labour Day, which is celebrated in Canada and the United States, but is not common in my country. According to a member of the Japanese club, the holiday is important for students in the sense that it marks the end of a long summer vacation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two days before, my roommate suggested that we visit Stanley Park on September 2nd, which is today. Although I had accepted his proposal at that time, we didn\u2019t go because he changed his mind. He told me that it was too cold to visit the park, but it wasn\u2019t actually very cold for most people, including me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I saw news that was as surprising as my roommate\u2019s change of mind. The report was about the fact that Yayoisugi Cedar had been devastated by a typhoon.
