The 108-arrow shooting is a tradition in some Kyudo societies in Japan, and I had experienced it when I was a high school student.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10 experienced members, including myself, completed the 108 arrows, and beginner members shot at the makiwara, which is another practice method instead of using a real target. It took us about 8 hours to complete the shooting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some members hit the target more than 50% of the time, while I hit about 15%. I knew the reason why I couldn&#8217;t hit the target, so I was not too sad. I realized how much my hitting percentage had decreased in the last year. For example, I shot 108 arrows on January 6th last year in Yakushima and hit 55 times.
