First, beginner members experienced <em>Taihai<\/em> for the first time &#8211; a set of formal movements that include shooting and its preceding and following actions. I had learned this as a high school student, though I don&#8217;t recall how I mastered it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After practice, we had our second event: a Christmas party, similar to Bonenkai in Japan &#8211; an end-of-year gathering for mutual appreciation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several members kindly brought potluck dishes, including curry. A Greek member provided traditional rolls that were delicious, though I can&#8217;t remember their name.
