On Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, I got up at 7:00 a.m. PST. It was already snowing by then. Although I hadn’t planned to take a walk, the snowfall inspired me to go out.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To enjoy the snow, I visited Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam, a city next to New Westminster. As expected, the view was magnificent. Part of the water appeared frozen, with snow accumulating on the ice surface. Gulls were scattered across the snow and ice in the middle of the pond, while numerous ducks gathered along its edge.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I spotted a bird I had never seen before – a Spotted Towhee, distinctive with its red eyes and white spots on its back. It was walking on the ground alongside a White-crowned Sparrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterward, I returned to New Westminster Station for lunch with my host mother at The Old Spaghetti Factory, located in front of the station. She treated me to a meal in appreciation of my help cleaning the kitchen to eliminate an ant infestation. While I was grateful for lunch at this restaurant I had never visited before, the ants are still present in our home.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
