On Thursday, February 20th, 2025, I got up around 9:30 a.m. PST and left home around noon to go to downtown Vancouver.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meeting up with a friend at a station there, we visited a restaurant called Big Way Hot Pot. As the name suggests, it specialized in hot pot. I had heard about the restaurant\u2019s reputation, so I was curious to try it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before entering, I sent a message to the restaurant through its website, letting them know I was planning to visit. The website showed that about 40 groups were ahead of us, which demonstrated how popular the place was.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After receiving a text informing us that our table was almost ready, we went inside. Like a buffet, there were a variety of ingredients to add to the hot pot, such as vegetables, meats, mushrooms, noodles, tofu, and seafood. After selecting the type of soup, we waited at our table for the server to bring our cooked bowls. After finishing our meal, we got free ice cream.<\/span><\/p>\n

When choosing my ingredients, I saw many familiar foods and picked some of them, such as enoki mushrooms and something similar to vermicelli. Since my friend from Colombia wasn\u2019t familiar with Asian ingredients, I recommended that she try enoki mushrooms.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I was completely satisfied with the hot pot I customized. In particular, the Mushroom Vegan Broth I ordered was my favorite part. While I finished my entire meal, my friend took her leftovers home.<\/span><\/p>\n

After returning home, I watched the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off, an international ice hockey competition, on TV. Canada won against the United States and became the champion.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
