On Sunday, April 27th, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. and left home around noon with my father to have lunch at a locally popular ramen restaurant. Unlike what I had felt about 10 years ago, I found the ramen there slightly too salty, perhaps because my sense of taste has gradually changed.<\/span><\/p>\n

After lunch, I visited Todoroki Ryokuchi Park by myself, one of the major parks in Kawasaki. Since it was sunny and a Sunday, many people were there playing sports such as soccer, tennis, and basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n

The park features a large stadium that serves as the home ground for Kawasaki Frontale, a competitive professional soccer team beloved by locals. Although I had visited the stadium several times before, this was the first time I noticed a statue of a player standing atop the stadium gate. What makes the sculpture unique is that it faces forward not with the player\u2019s face, but with his jersey number on his back.<\/p>\n

When I spotted the statue, I guessed that it represented Kengo Nakamura, a legendary player for the franchise. His posture gave me that impression, and it turned out I was correct.
