On Saturday, May 10th, 2025, I got up at 6:30 a.m. and left home in the evening to visit Shirahataike Park in Yokohama.<\/span><\/p>\n

I had always thought of this park as a well-known spot for viewing cherry blossoms and water lilies. The cherry blossom season has already passed this year, but I saw water lilies blooming in the pond.<\/p>\n

Unexpectedly, I found purple flowers on a Chinaberry tree\u2014my favorite kind of tree.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I had seen the same species five days ago at another park in the same city, which means these trees are planted in multiple parks in my hometown. This was a new discovery for me, as I had thought Chinaberry trees were rare in the Kanto region\u2014including this city\u2014while they are quite common on Yakushima Island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
