On Sunday, May 11th, 2025, I got up at 6:30 a.m. and left home around 11:30 a.m. to meet up with my friend.<\/span><\/p>\n

He and I decided to walk from Futakotamagawa Station, a major station in Tokyo, because I had suggested that we walk along the Senkawa River.<\/span><\/p>\n

Narrow sidewalks have been built on both sides of the riverbanks. We walked along the paths, observing birds and plants, such as a kingfisher with a turquoise-blue body and a Japanese persimmon tree with tiny bell-shaped flowers. There are several parks along the river. For example, Soshigaya Park was crowded with local residents today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The amount of water in the upstream part of the river was very low. At one point, we even found a section where there was no water at all. According to the website of Mitaka City, the spring water in the upper reaches of the river decreased after river improvement work was carried out for flood control.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
