On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, I got up around 2:00 a.m. and left home around 7:00 a.m. to visit Tokyo Dome and watch baseball games.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This week, the Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship is taking place in Tokyo. I had originally been interested in the games scheduled for Meiji Jingu Stadium today, but they were postponed due to rain. So instead, I went to the Dome, where three other tournament games were set to take place, and watched them surrounded by baseball fans and possibly some professional scouts.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here are the results of the three games: Tokai University beat Josai International University 8\u20131, Fukui University of Technology won 3\u20130 over Osaka Sangyo University, and Chukyo University defeated Kindai University 5\u20130.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The most impressive game was the third one, in which Ryusei Ohya, the starting pitcher for Chukyo University, dominated the opposing batters. He threw seven innings and allowed only three singles. His performance was like that of a professional player. I was surprised by him because I hadn\u2019t heard of him before.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The starting pitcher for the opposing team, Shogo Arikata, also pitched well. He\u2019s still a sophomore, which means he still has time to improve before he becomes eligible for the professional draft, where fourth-year students have a chance to sign with pro teams.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
