On Friday, June 13th, 2025, I got up at 7:30 a.m. to head to Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I watched three games there as part of the Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship. The first one was between Aoyama Gakuin University and Hokkai-Gakuen University, the second between Seinan Gakuin University and Tohoku Fukushi University, and the last between Waseda University and Tokai University.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was my first time watching a game played by Aoyama Gakuin University, and I was excited because they\u2019re considered the strongest college team in Japan in recent years. They won three out of the four national tournaments held between 2023 and 2024. Even though their core players graduated every year, the team has maintained its competitiveness and reached the national tournament again this year by winning the local league they belong to.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, they beat Hokkai-Gakuen University 5\u20130, and that result alone made it clear to me why they\u2019re so strong. Their batters hit the ball hard, while their pitchers barely gave the opponent any chances. In particular, Taisei Suzuki, a third-year pitcher, dominated with powerful fastballs that the opposing batters had a hard time hitting.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
