On Friday, August 1st, 2025, I got up at 7:00 a.m. PDT and went to a park in the morning to volunteer for the first time.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The volunteer activity I joined involved removing invasive plants from the park. As someone who enjoys observing plants, I hope to deepen my understanding of Canada\u2019s vegetation by taking part in such opportunities.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Together with other volunteers, I used pruners to cut back a particular type of plant growing in clusters along the water\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n

The people who seemed to be leading the volunteer team were very knowledgeable about plants and pointed out things I wouldn\u2019t have noticed on my own. One of them cautioned me not to cut a native plant that was growing next to the invasive species.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
