On Thursday, August 7th, 2025, I got up around 10:30 a.m. PDT and went out in the evening to visit Shaughnessy Park for the second day in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The reason I came was to take pictures of sourwoods in the park. Sourwood has become one of my favorite trees in Vancouver, and I\u2019m looking forward to seeing its leaves turn red in the coming season.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the edge of the park, I found a conifer with red fruits that I hadn\u2019t noticed yesterday. It\u2019s a yew, but I\u2019m not sure of its exact type among the several kinds of yew.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Right next to the red fruits, there were white fruits, which might be Japanese snowbell. It\u2019s exciting to come across fruit-bearing trees in Vancouver, where they are relatively hard to find compared to Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
