On Sunday, August 31st, 2025, I got up at noon PDT and went out in the afternoon to a neighborhood near Edmonds Station.<\/span><\/p>\n

I walked around the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, which was the venue for a summer festival celebrating Japanese culture. Bon-Odori, a traditional Japanese dance, was taking place when I was near there, and many visitors were enjoying the festival in the garden of the facility. Although I found the atmosphere lively and wanted to enter, I didn\u2019t, since admission cost CAD 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

Around Edmonds Station, there was another festival called Car Free Day, which was free to attend. Streets were temporarily closed, and stalls were set up as part of the street festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day before, I had seen another street festival, which took place at various locations in downtown Vancouver, including Granville Street. Since street festivals in Vancouver can attract many people, I always think that the city should have shopping districts that are permanently car-free.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
