On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, I got up around 7:30 a.m. PDT and joined a volunteer activity at a park in the morning. Vancouver was hazy due to wildfire smoke.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After finishing the work, I took a walk in Stanley Park in the afternoon. Beside a sidewalk and a bike lane in the park, beautiful flowers were blooming, which might have been a species of rhododendron.<\/p>\n

Continuing along the sidewalk from the spot near the flowers, visitors can see giant cones on a conifer tree. The texture of these cones looked like architecture built with a 3D printer.<\/span><\/p>\n

I believe the tree might have been a Himalayan cedar. According to Oregon State University\u2019s website, female cones take two years to mature. The giant cones I saw seemed to be in their second year.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
