The room has a small window high on the wall, but I can barely see anything through it, which is quite different from the condo room I used to live in.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another thing I need to get used to in this new environment is doing my own laundry. When I lived in my former host families\u2019 houses in Vancouver, my host mothers did the laundry for me once a week, but now I have to take care of it myself. <\/span>Using the detergent I bought yesterday, I did my first load of laundry in Vancouver today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A Japanese friend once told me to use a thin laundry sheet, and my host mother also used it.
