On Monday, September 8th, 2025, I got up at 11:30 a.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before practice, I walked around Robson Street, one of the liveliest shopping districts in Vancouver. It reminds me of the Motomachi Shopping Street in Yokohama, Japan, in terms of its scale, atmosphere, and overall appearance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What I noticed around the intersection of Robson Street and Bute Street was that the sidewalk along Robson Street has been expanded. Construction is still underway, and according to a sign at the site, a permanent plaza on Bute Street is scheduled to open this fall.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While I\u2019m not sure what nearby vendors and local drivers think of this plan, I love it because I much prefer a walkable city to a car-centric society. Ideally, I hope the district will turn into a car-free area so it can become even more vibrant.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
