Today, one member told me that he had seen Joshua trees in a desert in Southern California. It was an interesting topic for me, since I\u2019m not very familiar with desert vegetation, like most Japanese people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through experiences like this, I have chances to communicate with other volunteers. In fact, this is one of my motivations to participate, because my English is still far from fluent, and I really want to improve it by talking with local people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That said, I struggled with a conversation with one member today because I couldn\u2019t express my thoughts well.
