On Saturday, September 27th, 2025, I got up around noon PDT. Although I usually practice Japanese archery every Saturday, I didn\u2019t today, as I was hanging out with a friend of mine who is going back to her home country, Germany, tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

We visited the University of British Columbia, and I showed her some places on campus that I found interesting, such as the Museum of Anthropology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another place we went to on campus was a Japanese-style garden called the Nitobe Memorial Garden. In that calm garden, a few flowers of sacred bamboo were blooming near a pond\u2014though I think it was a bit late in the season for them.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the pond, there were many fish\u2014carp, including beautiful ones known as Nishikigoi<\/em>. While carp is a familiar species to Japanese people, it was her first time learning about it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
