As before, I played in a match-style format together with other beginners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What I learned from today\u2019s session was how difficult it is to make a take-out shot. It made me realize that accuracy is more important than with other types of shots. When I tried to get rid of the opponent\u2019s stone for the first time, I failed. On the second attempt, though, I succeeded as my teammates and I had planned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The difficulties of this sport extend beyond throwing rocks. As a skip, I found giving directions quite challenging. The player must decide where the stone should land and in which direction the thrower should slide forward. To determine these two factors, it&#8217;s necessary to estimate how much the rock will curl &#8211; something I still find difficult to predict.
