On Thursday, January 8th, 2026, I got up at 4:00 a.m. PST and went out in the morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The place I visited today was the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, a cultural and recreational facility in Port Coquitlam. It offers various amenities, including a library, a caf\u00e9, a leisure pool, a fitness centre, and a gymnasium. I was surprised by how popular pickleball was there, as dozens of people were playing it regardless of their age or gender, both in the gym and on the outdoor courts in front of the building.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My purpose in going there was to enjoy ice skating. This community centre has three ice rinks, whereas all the ice skating facilities I had been to before had only one or two rinks.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The rink I practiced on today was very comfortable for skating, as the ice surface felt smoother than those at other facilities. In addition, the middle of the rink had a designated area for practicing crossovers, a movement in which skaters glide around a circle, which I have been working on recently.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
