On Friday, January 23rd, 2026, I got up at noon PST and went out in the afternoon to go ice skating.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ice skating facility I visited that day was Kensington Complex in Burnaby.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The rink was packed with visitors, such as families and groups of friends, probably because the session I attended was public skating between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Every time I go ice skating on a weekday evening, I\u2019m impressed by how popular skating is among local people.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The layout of Kensington Complex is not very different from other rinks I have been to. However, the atmosphere during public skating was slightly unique because some of the ceiling lights in the arena were turned off, and disco-like lights were turned on.
