One was between the national teams of Japan and France. The other was also a game involving Japan, this time against Germany. While Japan won 3\u20132 against France, it was defeated by Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although I had known that Japan\u2019s women\u2019s national team had participated in the Olympics before, it was my first time watching their games. Their performances in these matches were better than I had expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One player who stood out to me was Akane Shiga, a young forward from Hokkaido who recorded one assist in each game of the tournament so far. I was impressed by several plays in which she moved around the ice while possessing the puck and made a difference for Japan.
