2025年4月6日（日）、午前9時に起きた。午後、横浜の元町にある弓道場で弓をひいた。
この弓道場で弓を引くのは10年以上ぶり。高校生のころ、ここで練習していた当時は、知り合いが数人いて、弓道をちょくちょく教えてもらっていた。腕の立つおじいさんたちで、私は彼らに優しく教えてもらっていたことを覚えている。
だが残念ながら、その方たちに今日会うことはなかった。そのうちの1人はすでに亡くなってしまったらしい。
弓道場の落ち着いた雰囲気は昔のままだった。木々に囲まれた古風な建物は、武道をするのにぴったりだ。弓道場は元町公園のなかに立ち、公園では桜が美しく咲いていた。
On Sunday, April 6th, 2025, I got up at 9:00 a.m. and left home to visit a kyudojo—a place for Japanese archery—in Motomachi, Yokohama.
I practiced kyudo there for the first time in over ten years. When I trained there as a high school student, I learned from a few elderly male archers who were both kind and skilled. Unfortunately, I didn’t see them this time—I was told that one of them had passed away.
Still, the kyudojo retained the same comfortable atmosphere as before. The traditional-style building, surrounded by trees, continues to offer a pleasant space for Japanese archery.
The kyudojo is located in Motomachi Park, where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
