現地時間2024年12月4日（水）、午前7時半に起床した。午前8時ごろに家を出て、専門学校へ向かった。
ニューウェストミンスターに引っ越してきてから、霧をよく目撃する。今朝、霧が出ていたかは覚えていないが、午後には確かに現れていた。
マンションの中層階に私の部屋は位置しており、近隣にたちこめる霧を眺めることができる。通学途中にも、霧を眺める機会がある。通学に使うエキスポラインは高架線を走っており、車窓から景色がよく見えるからだ。
一方、以前住んでいた家では、景色を楽しむ機会が少なかった。1階に住んでいて、なおかつ窓が小さかった。通学に使っていたカナダラインはかなりの区間で、地下を走っている。もし今も、前の家に住んでいたら、霧が出ていることに気付いていなかったかもしれない。
On Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, I got up around 7:30 a.m. PST and left my house at about 8:00 a.m. to go to college.
What stood out to me during my first week living in the new house and neighborhood was the appearance of fog in the mornings. I can’t quite remember if it was foggy this morning, but it definitely showed up this afternoon.
My condo unit is high enough to give me a clear view of the fog hanging over the neighborhood. Additionally, I can easily observe the weather from the Expo Line, which I usually take to school, as the train runs on an elevated track.
In contrast, my old house wasn’t ideal for looking outside. I lived on the first floor with only small windows, and the Canada Line, which I used to take, doesn’t offer much of a view since it runs underground for a significant portion of its route. If I were still living in my previous home, I might not have noticed the fog.
