現地時間2024年11月30日（土）、午前7時ごろに起床した。朝、家を出て、新居に引っ越した。
ほとんどの荷物はすでに新居へ移っていた。それでもいくつかの荷物がまだ家に残っており、今日、新居に運ぶ必要があった。私はリュック2つと矢筒、手には紙袋を持って新居へ向かった。
移動を始めてすぐに、紙袋が破れた。運悪く、横断歩道を渡っている途中だった。袋に入っていた持ち物が飛び出し、横断歩道に落ちた。歩行者信号が赤になる前に急いで拾わなければ、散乱した持ち物は車にひかれてしまう。
ほとんどの物は拾えたが、水筒だけは拾う時間がなかった。横断歩道に残った水筒は、交差点を走る車によって粉々に壊された。
紙袋は完全に使えなくなっていた。リュックに入りきらない荷物をどうやって運ぼうか、私は困り果てた。ほかの人から見ても、私が困っていることは一目瞭然だったはずなのに、通りすがりの人たちは誰も助けれくれなかった。
私は最終的に、荷物を軽くするため、優先順位が低い物を近くのゴミ箱に捨てた。なんとか、バスと電車に乗って、新居にたどり着いた。
On Saturday, November 30th, 2024, I got up around 7:00 a.m. PST and left my house in the morning to move to a new home.
Although most of my belongings had already been transported, some items were still left in the old house. I carried two backpacks and a tube with arrows, holding a paper bag in my hand.
Right after I left my house, the paper bag tore apart while I was crossing a street because the contents were too heavy. Many items spilled out of the broken bag and fell onto the crosswalk. I picked them up quickly; otherwise, they would have been crushed by cars after the pedestrian signal turned red.
While I managed to gather most of the items, there was no time to retrieve a water bottle. It was left on the crosswalk and ended up being crushed by passing cars.
I faced a significant problem: the paper bag was completely unusable, and some items couldn’t fit into my backpacks. Even though it was obvious I was struggling with my belongings, no one offered to help. In the end, I threw away some items to lighten my load, managed to board a bus and train, and finally moved into the new house.
