現地時間2024年11月29日（金）、午前6時半ごろに起床した。午前9時半に家を出て、新居に荷物を運びに行った。明日の引っ越しに備えるためだ。
荷物を運ぶのは今日が2回目だった。前回と同じように、友人が車を出し、運搬を手伝ってくれた。引っ越し準備以外にも、その友人はいつも私を助けてくれる。感謝してもしきれない。
今日は「ブラックフライデー」。アメリカ発の文化で、小売店が大規模なセールを実施するという。個人的には日本でも浸透しつつあるように感じる。
バンクーバーの中心部にあるパシフィック・センターでは、「25％オフ」や「30％オフ」など、割引をうたう看板を目にした。近所の大麻販売店でさえ、ブラックフライデーのセールを実施していた。
On Friday, November 29th, 2024, I got up around 6:30 a.m. PST and left my house at 9:30 a.m. to move some of my belongings to my new house in preparation for tomorrow’s move.
It was my second time transporting items. Just like last time, my friend drove me and helped with the process. She is the person I am most grateful to among all the people I’ve met in Vancouver.
Today is called Black Friday. It’s widely known for retailers offering discounts and sales. I personally feel it’s becoming more common in Japan as well, especially with Amazon’s growing popularity there.
While walking along the shopping streets in Pacific Centre, I noticed signs advertising discounts, such as 25% or 30% off. Even the cannabis store in my neighborhood was having a Black Friday sale.
