現地時間2024年12月15日（日）、午前12時半に起きた。自宅にいる間は主に、学校の課題を進めた。
15時半、気分転換のため散歩に出た。外はとても寒かった。家でアメリカンフットボールを見ていた方がマシだったかもしれない。
近所の公園で小鳥を見かけた。黒い顔と茶色い体をもつ鳥だ。木の下を歩き、地面を繰り返しついばんでいた。私は以前にもバンクーバーの別の場所で、同じ種類の鳥を見かけたことがある。
名前はユキヒメドリ（Dark-eyed Junco）という。ユキヒメドリのなかで、さらに種類がいくつか分かれているらしく、今日私が見たのはOregon Juncoというそうだ。
On Sunday, December 15th, 2024, I got up at 12:30 p.m. PST and worked on my group project task.
To refresh my body and mind, I left home around 3:30 p.m. for a walk around the neighborhood. As it was too cold outside, I found watching American football on TV at home more comfortable than being outdoors.
In the park, several small birds with black faces and brown bodies were walking on the ground beneath the trees, repeatedly pecking at the soil. Although I had seen this species elsewhere in Vancouver before, this was my first time successfully photographing them.
They were Dark-eyed Juncos. This species has several variations, and the specific one I observed was the Oregon Junco.
