現地時間2025年7月26日（土）、午前5時半に起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
この夜、バンクーバーで花火大会があった。毎年の恒例行事のようだ。語学学校の友人が去年、このイベントについて話していた。
私は今年の花火大会に少し興味があったけれど、結局行かなかった。開始時刻が遅く、夜10時すぎだったからだ。夏のバンクーバーは夜9時を過ぎても空が明るく、その関係で花火の開始が遅い時間に設定されているのだろう。
花火の代わりに私が楽しんだのは、高校野球の神奈川大会だ。横浜高校と東海大相模高校による決勝戦をインターネットで観た。この大会がカナダから視聴できることを、今日初めて知った。とてもありがたい。
On Saturday, July 26th, 2025, I got up at 5:30 a.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
A fireworks show took place in Vancouver that night. I remembered a friend from language school mentioning the event last year.
Although I was curious about it, I didn’t go, as the fireworks started at 10:15 p.m., which was too late for me. In summer, the sun sets very late in Vancouver, and the sky is still bright even after 9 p.m., so it’s no surprise the show started that late.
Instead of going to the festival, I watched a high school baseball game online — the final match of the Kanagawa Prefecture tournament. Until today, I didn’t know it was possible to watch the tournament from Canada, especially since some Japanese baseball videos aren’t easily accessible from here.
