現地時間2025年8月24日（日）、午前8時半に起きた。外出はしなかった。
くしゃみが今朝から止まらず、今日はベッドの上で休むことにした。だが、なかなか眠りにつけなかった。部屋がとても暑かったからだ。昨日の夜から今日の深夜にかけても、なかなか寝付くことができなかった。
ホストマザー曰く、8月下旬は雨が降りがちで、今年ほど暑くなるのは珍しいと言っていた。異常な暑さに見舞われているのは、日本もカナダも同様のようだ。
ちなみにカナダ政府のデータによると、バンクーバー国際空港における今日の最高気温は24.3°C。この数字だけ見ると、さほど暑そうな感じがしない。
On Sunday, August 24th, 2025, I got up at 8:30 a.m. PDT and stayed home all day.
Since I couldn’t stop sneezing this morning, I decided to rest in bed. However, I couldn’t sleep well because it was so hot. I also had trouble falling asleep at midnight after watching the fireworks the night before.
My host mother told me that it tends to be rainy at the end of August and that it’s unusual for it to be this hot at this time of year. Like Japan, Canada is experiencing extreme heat this summer.
For your information, the maximum temperature at Vancouver International Airport today was 24.3°C, according to data from the Government of Canada. Judging only from this data, it doesn’t feel that hot.
