現地時間2025年10月10日（金）、午前7時に起きた。公園でのボランティア活動に参加した。
ボランティアの作業を終えたあと、スタンレーパークを訪れた。雨が降り、園内の森にはうっすらと霧がかかっていた。
園内を歩きながら私が注目していたのは、遊歩道沿いにある「マイヅルソウ」。ブリティッシュコロンビア州の在来種だ。マイヅルソウの実は熟すにつれて、色がベージュから赤に変わる。
約2か月前の時点では、赤い実を見つけることはできなかった。今日は、赤くなった実を見つけることができた。ただし、その数は多くない。すべてが赤くなるまでは、もう少し時間がかかりそうだ。
On Friday, October 10th, 2025, I got up at 7:00 a.m. PDT and took part in volunteer work at a park in the morning.
After finishing the task, I visited Stanley Park and walked along part of the trails there. It was rainy, and the forest was slightly foggy.
What I paid attention to was finding false lily of the valley, a native species in British Columbia, along the path. I expected its berries to turn red from beige as they mature.
While I didn’t find any red berries about two months ago, I spotted a few today, though not many. It seemed that it would take more time for the plants to become full of red berries.
