現地時間2025年11月28日（金）、午前5時半に起きた。公園でのボランティア活動に参加した。
ボランティア作業を終えた後、「Fujiya」というお店で昼食を買った。Fujiyaは日系のスーパーで、バンクーバーの中心地などに店を構える。
私が購入したのは、お弁当。米、餃子、唐揚げなどが入っていて、美味しかった。1つの容器に様々な料理が入っているのは、日本式のお弁当ならではと言えるかもしれない。
価格は10カナダドル未満だった。質、量、価格を考えると、大変お買い得だ。このお店を気に入っているのは、私だけではない。「ここの弁当が好き」という声を、友人から聞いたことがある。
On Friday, November 28th, 2025, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. PST and participated in volunteer work at a park.
After planting native species and removing invasive plants as a volunteer, I bought lunch at Fujiya, a Japanese grocery store in the heart of Vancouver.
I purchased a bento – a Japanese-style lunch box filled with rice, gyoza, karaage, and more. Having a variety of dishes in a single container is uncommon in Vancouver and may be unique to Japan.
While the lunch was more delicious than the deli foods I usually eat, it cost less than 10 CAD – a good deal considering the quality, quantity, and price. In fact, I even have a friend who likes the lunch boxes from this store, and they’re not Japanese or Japanese Canadian.
