現地時間2025年11月27日（木）、午前4時に起きた。昼、アイススケートの練習をした。2回も転んでしまい、左腰のあたりを痛めた。
アイススケートについての話題をもう1つ。今日ついにスケート靴を購入した。どんな靴を買ったかは、実際に使ってみてから、このブログに書くつもりだ。
「Decathlon」というフランス発の店で買った。店舗は、メトロタウンのショッピングモール内にある。
靴を選ぶにあたって、私は今月いくつかの店舗を回った。そのなかで、Decathlonは試し履きをしやすい雰囲気があったので、ここで買うことにした。
今回訪れた店のなかには、中古のスケート靴を安値で売っている店もあった。結局その店では何も買わなかったが、今後他の商品を買いに行くかもしれない。
On Thursday, November 27th, 2025, I got up at 4:00 a.m. PST and practiced ice skating around noon. I fell twice on the ice, which hurt a part of my body around the left side of my waist.
There was another event related to ice skating today. In the afternoon, I finally bought my own pair of ice skates at a store. I’ll write about my impressions of the skates on this blog after using them on an ice rink for the first time.
The retailer where I bought the skates was Decathlon, a company originally from France. Its store is located inside a huge mall in Metrotown. While I visited multiple retailers this month in Metro Vancouver to look for ice skates, I found Decathlon’s store the most comfortable place to try skates on. Having used rental skates many times at ice rinks, I realized how important it is to make sure the skates fit me well in order to enjoy the sport comfortably.
One of the stores I visited for ice skating gear sells used skates at discounted prices. I didn’t end up buying anything there today, but it was good to know there is a second-hand shop, since I may go there to buy other kinds of merchandise.
