現地時間2025年12月1日（月）、午前6時半に起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
練習前、バンクーバーの中心部を歩いた。
街はクリスマスモードになりつつある。バンクーバー美術館前の巨大クリスマスツリーが象徴的だ。クリスマス商品を売り始めているある本屋では、「ジングル・ベル・ロック」がBGMとしてかかっていた。
街の景色が秋の終わりを感じさせてくれる一方、ビュート・ストリートの工事はまだ終わっていない。今秋までに広場を完成させる計画なのだが、現場はまだ、仮囲いが立っている状態だ。どれくらいの人たちがこの計画に注目しているかは知らないが、少なくとも自分は完成をずっと待っている。
On Monday, December 1st, 2025, I got up at 6:30 a.m. PST and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
Before practice, I walked around the heart of Vancouver.
It’s easy to notice that Christmas is getting closer. I saw a tall Christmas tree that had recently been installed in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s classic-style building, and a bookstore was selling Christmas-themed items while playing “Jingle Bell Rock” inside.
Even though fall should be ending now that it’s December and getting colder, the construction project on Bute Street—where a new plaza was supposed to be completed by this fall—is still ongoing. It may not be a significant development for most people, but I’ve been waiting for its completion for a long time.
