現地時間2025年12月20日（土）、午前11時に起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
家、カーリングやアイスホッケーの試合を観た。冬のバンクーバーの天候は心地よいものではないが、ウィンタースポーツを楽しめるのは冬ならではだ。
観戦したホッケーの試合は、エドモントン・オイラーズとミネソタ・ワイルドの対戦だった。オイラーズは最近調子が良かったが、この試合ではワイルドに5対2で敗れた。ワイルドのカウンターアタックが効果的に決まっていた。
ミネソタ・ワイルドは今冬、リーグ屈指のディフェンスマンであるクイン・ヒューズ選手をバンクーバー・カナックスから獲得した。今回の試合を観る限り、彼のプレーは、カナックス時代と比べるとあまり目立っていなかった。悪い変化というわけではなく、新しいチームへの順応と捉えるべきなのかもしれない。
On Saturday, December 20th, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. PST and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
At home, I watched multiple sports—curling and ice hockey—on a sports channel I subscribe to. The weather in Vancouver is far from enjoyable this season, yet I was happy to enjoy watching winter sports that are popular in Canada.
The hockey game I watched was between the Edmonton Oilers and the Minnesota Wild. Although the Oilers have been in good form recently, they were defeated 5–2 by the Wild. It was impressive to see how effective the Wild’s counterattacks were.
The team based in Minnesota has recently acquired Quinn Hughes, who is a star defenceman in the league and a former Vancouver Canuck. Watching his performance in this game, I personally felt that he was no more outstanding than he had been when he played for the Canucks. This change is not necessarily negative and may reflect differences in team characteristics and competitiveness between his current organization and the team he previously played for.
