現地時間2026年1月24日（土）、午前7時半に起きた。夜、弓道の練習をした。
自宅で、アイスホッケーの試合を観た。ワシントン・キャピタルズとエドモントン・オイラーズの対戦だ。延長戦の末、オイラーズが6対5で勝利した。今季観たアイスホッケーのなかで、最も面白い試合だった。
この試合のMVPはEvan Bouchard選手で間違いないだろう。オイラーズのディフェンスマンである同選手はハットトリックを達成し、決勝点のアシストも決めた。
アイスホッケーではディフェンスの選手も攻撃に加わる。Bouchard選手の強烈なシュートは、チームの武器の1つだ。もともとはマクデービッド選手のファンとしてオイラーズを追っていた私だが、何試合も見ているうちに、Bouchard選手も好きになってきた。
On Saturday, January 24th, 2026, I got up at 7:30 a.m. PST and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
At home, I watched an ice hockey game between the Washington Capitals and the Edmonton Oilers using a sports channel’s streaming service that I subscribe to. After overtime, the Oilers won 6–5, making it the most exciting game I have watched this season.
If I had to pick the MVP of the game, it would be Evan Bouchard, a defenceman for the Oilers. He recorded a hat trick and assisted on the overtime-winning goal scored by Connor McDavid.
Unlike soccer, it is common in ice hockey for defencemen to contribute directly to offensive opportunities. Bouchard’s powerful slap shot is one of the advantages the Edmonton team has. While I originally followed their games because I am a fan of McDavid, I have also started to enjoy watching Bouchard’s performances.
