現地時間2026年1月23日（金）、正午に起きた。午後、アイススケートのために外出した。
訪れた施設は、バーナビーにあるケンジントン・コンプレックスだ。
時間帯が夕方だったからなのか、リンクは混雑していた。家族連れや友人グループの姿が目立った。ここに限らず、平日の夕方のリンクは多くの人で賑わっている。スケート人気の高さがうかがえる。
今日訪れた施設の内部のレイアウトは、特段変わったものではない。待合室と客席、そしてリンクがある。ただし、雰囲気は少し独特だった。天井の照明の一部が消え、その代わりにディスコのような派手な照明が点いていた。
On Friday, January 23rd, 2026, I got up at noon PST and went out in the afternoon to go ice skating.
The ice skating facility I visited that day was Kensington Complex in Burnaby.
The rink was packed with visitors, such as families and groups of friends, probably because the session I attended was public skating between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Every time I go ice skating on a weekday evening, I’m impressed by how popular skating is among local people.
The layout of Kensington Complex is not very different from other rinks I have been to. However, the atmosphere during public skating was slightly unique because some of the ceiling lights in the arena were turned off, and disco-like lights were turned on. This lighting made the rink feel somewhat party-like.
