現地時間2025年12月28日（日）、14時ごろに起きた。夕方、外出した。
今日歩いたのは、ニューウェストミンスター市内の一角。フレーザー川沿いの地区だ。ニューウェストミンスターとサレーを結ぶ橋が最近開通したらしく、私はその橋を見に行くことにした。
パトゥーロ橋という古い橋を架け替えるべく、新しい橋の工事が進んできた。私は以前、古い方の橋を一度だけ歩いたことがある。大変見晴らしがよかったことを記憶している。
新しい橋からの眺望もきっと素晴らしいだろう。だが今日の時点では、橋を歩いて眺めを堪能することはできなかった。歩道部分がまだ工事していたからだ。今日見た限りでは、一部の車線もまだ完成していなかった。
On Sunday, December 28th, 2025, I got up around 2:00 p.m. PST and went out in the evening.
The neighborhood I walked around today was part of New Westminster near the Fraser River. Since I had heard that a new bridge connecting the city and Surrey had recently opened, I decided to go see it in person.
The bridge is known as the replacement for an old bridge called the Pattullo Bridge. I have walked on the Pattullo Bridge once and enjoyed taking pictures of views of tall residential buildings and snow-covered mountains.
The new bridge would offer a great vantage point, but I couldn’t get there because its pedestrian walkway was still under construction. From what I saw today, some lanes of the bridge were not completed either.
