現地時間2024年9月29日（日）、午前11時半ごろに起きた。外出はしなかった。
MLBの今年のレギュラーシーズンは、今日でほぼ終了した。大谷翔平選手の活躍がいかに歴史的であったかは、説明不要だろう。
彼の活躍に伴い日本で知名度を上げた選手が2人いる。メッツのフランシスコ・リンドーア選手、パドレスのルイス・アラエス選手だ。前者はMVPレースで大谷選手の対抗馬と目されている。後者は首位打者に輝き、大谷選手の三冠王獲得を阻止したことで注目を浴びた。
私は2人のファンだ。2023年のワールド・ベースボール・クラシックで両選手の活躍を見て、魅力を知った。彼らは次の2026年の大会にも出場するだろう。大谷選手をはじめとする日本代表との戦いが楽しみだ。

The regular season for MLB in 2024 has almost finished today. It is unnecessary to explain how historic Shohei Ohtani’s plays this year are.
Along with his performance, two other players also became famous in Japan. They are Francisco Lindor, a Puerto Rican infielder for the New York Mets, and Luis Arraez, a Venezuelan infielder for the San Diego Padres. The former is a rival candidate in the MVP race in the National League, which Ohtani will probably win. The latter player won the title of leading hitter in the league and prevented Ohtani from getting the triple crown.
I became a fan of both players, as I watched their performances in the World Baseball Classic in 2023. They are supposed to play in the next tournament in 2026. I’m looking forward to the battles between them and the Japanese national team, including Shohei Ohtani.
