現地時間2025年1月5日（日）、15時ごろに起きた。外出はしなかった。昨日の弓道の影響で、いつにない疲労と筋肉痛が残っていた。
夜、ホストマザーがテレビを見ていた。テレビで流れていたのは、ゴールデングローブ賞の授賞式だ。私も時々一緒に見た。
私たちは、最近観た映画「A Complete Unknown」ならびに主演俳優の受賞を期待していた。だが、残念ながらノミネートされた両部門とも、「The Brutalist」とその主演俳優が受賞した。
この映画のほかに私は、「Shogun」についても少し知っていた。このドラマシリーズはゴールデングローブ賞を受賞。真田広之さんら出演者も賞を獲得した。映画業界に詳しくない私は、彼らの功績の大きさを100%理解しているわけではないが、このドラマはきっと高い評価を受けているのだろう。真田さんの受賞スピーチの際、ホストマザーは彼の英語力の高さに感心していた。
On Sunday, January 5th, 2025, I got up around 3:00 p.m. PST and remained at home all day. I experienced unprecedented fatigue and muscle pain since moving to Canada.
In the evening, my host mother watched the Golden Globe Awards ceremony on TV, which I occasionally watched with her.
Having recently watched A Complete Unknown, we expected both the film and its lead actor to win awards. However, The Brutalist and its lead actor won in both categories they were nominated for.
Apart from this movie, I had limited knowledge of Shogun. The series and its actors, including Hiroyuki Sanada, received Golden Globe awards. Since I’m not well-versed in the film and television industry, I can’t fully grasp the magnitude of their achievement, but it seems to be highly acclaimed. During Hiroyuki Sanada’s acceptance speech, my host mother was impressed by his fluency in English.
