現地時間2024年11月24日（日）、午前4時ごろに起床した。午後に家を出て、引っ越し準備のために新居を訪れた。
引っ越しの準備で欠かせないのが荷造りだ。バンクーバーに住んでいる間に荷物が増えたので、スーツケースには収まりきらない。今日を含めて数回に分けて、荷物を新居に運ぶ予定だ。
ありがたいことに友人が車を出してくれて、荷物を運んでくれた。服を詰め込んだスーツケースはとても重く、バスや電車で運ぶのほぼ不可能だっただろう。
私の知る限り、バンクーバーの留学生はよく引っ越す。だが、彼らがどうやって荷物を運んでいるのかはわからない。電車やバスの代わりに、Uberを使っているのだろうか。
On Sunday, November 24th, 2024, I got up around 4:00 a.m. PST and left my house in the afternoon to visit my new home in preparation for moving.
I needed to pack my clothes and other belongings into my suitcase so that I can start living there at the end of this month. Since I have purchased and accumulated quite a few items while living here, I plan to move my belongings in several trips, starting today.
Thankfully, a friend drove me and helped transport my luggage to the new house. My suitcase, packed with clothes, was so heavy that I wouldn’t have been able to carry it using public transportation like buses and trains without my friend’s car.
I’m not sure how international students here usually transport their belongings. It is common for them to move frequently, but I wonder if they use Uber or similar services.
