現地時間2024年12月12日（木）、午前7時ごろに起床した。朝、家を出て、専門学校へ向かった。
今日から、データ分析の新しい課題に取り組み始めた。2人のクラスメイトと一緒に進める課題で、これまでの授業の集大成のような位置づけだ。
グループのメンバーは先生が選んだ。私のグループのメンバーは女性2人。1人は日本出身、もう1人は台湾出身だ。どちらも職務経験があり、頼もしい。
日本人のメンバーが、個人作業の方がグループワークよりも得意だ、と私に打ち明けてきた。意外かつ、興味深い発言だった。グループワークを進めるうえでネガティブな要素を、こんな簡単にさらけ出すのかという驚きだ。私自身も個人作業の方が得意だが、グループワークの際にはそれを隠してきた。
On Thursday, December 12th, 2024, I got up around 7:00 a.m. PST and left for college in the morning.
Starting today, I began an assignment analyzing data, which is supposed to be the final project of our college program. This project will be carried out in collaboration with two classmates.
The teacher, rather than the students, selected the members of each group. My groupmates are two women—one from Japan and the other from Taiwan. Both have job experience and are reliable.
Once we started the project, the Japanese group member told me that she prefers working individually rather than in a group. From my perspective, this revelation was both surprising and interesting. Although I have a similar personality, I have always hidden it intentionally when doing group work, as there is no advantage in exposing one’s own weaknesses.
