現地時間2025年3月1日（土）、午後に起きて、15時半に家を出た。いつもの土曜日と同様に、弓道の練習へ向かった。
練習後、弓道クラブのメンバーやその家族と一緒に、ご飯を食べた。訪れたのは、「Mogu Fried Chicken」という日本食レストラン。店内は混んでいた。持ち帰りの注文をする客も多く、人気の高さがうかがえた。
私が食べた丼ものはとても美味しかった。照り焼きチキンのほかにサラダが、米の上にのっていた。漬物もついており、日本らしさを存分に味わえる食事だった。
店で過ごしている間、主にアイスホッケーの話をした。友人たちはルールや文化、地元のチームについて、さらにはヨーロッパと北米のプレースタイルの違いなど、さまざまなことをよく知っていた。これまで友達とアイスホッケーについて話す機会は意外と少なく、その人たちがこれほどアイスホッケーについて熱く語るとは知らなった。
On Saturday, March 1st, 2025, I got up in the afternoon and left my home at 3:30 p.m. PST for Japanese archery practice.
After practice, some members of the Japanese archery club, their families, and I visited a Japanese restaurant called Mogu Fried Chicken. The restaurant was busy, and many customers came to pick up takeout orders, which showed how popular it is.
In fact, the rice bowl I had was delicious. It had not only teriyaki chicken but also a salad on top of the rice. There were also pickles as a side dish, which made the meal feel even more authentically Japanese.
While spending time there, we mainly talked about ice hockey. They are familiar with various aspects of the sport, such as its rules, culture, the local team, and the differences in playing style between Europe and North America. Since I had rarely talked about ice hockey with them before, I didn’t realize until today that they enjoy discussing this topic.
