現地時間2025年3月2日（日）、正午に起床。午後、散歩に出かけた。
訪れたのは、Belcarra Regional Park。市街地から離れた場所にある公園で、私は電車とバスを乗り継ぎ、さらに約30分歩いてたどり着いた。
公園内にあるササマット湖は、皇居の半分ほどの広さをもつ。湖に沿ってハイキングコースがのび、特に東側のコースからは、湖や森、山の景色が楽しめた。水面は穏やかで、青空と緑の針葉樹を美しく映し出していた。
ハイキングコースは森に囲まれている。目を引くような花や果実は見つからなかったものの、木々や地面に生えた苔は幻想的で、屋久島の森を彷彿とさせた。
On Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, I got up at noon PST and left home in the afternoon for a walk.
Taking a train and a bus, then walking for about 30 minutes, I visited Belcarra Regional Park, which is located outside the urban areas of Metro Vancouver.
There is a trail along Sasamat Lake, which is about half the size of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. From the east side of the trail, I enjoyed a scenic view of the lake, forest, and mountains. Since the water’s surface was calm, it beautifully reflected the blue sky and green coniferous trees.
While walking along the trail, I didn’t come across any flowers or fruits that caught my eye, but the moss covering the trees and ground was stunning, reminding me of the forests on Yakushima Island.
