現地時間2025年3月5日（水）、午前9時半に起きた。一日中家にいた。
今日は主に、ホストマザーの掃除を手伝うのに時間を費やした。掃除の目的は、明日の準備だ。以前も書いたように、台所や洗面所に蟻がよく現れており、明日、専門家が来て駆除作業をしてくれる。駆除作業でスプレーを使うらしく、私たちが事前に台所や洗面所を片付ける必要があった。駆除作業は大掛かりで、私たちの住戸だけでなく、集合住宅全体で実施するそうだ。
夜、私はホストマザーと一緒にテレビでアイスホッケーを観た。アナハイム・ダックスとバンクーバー・カナックスの試合だ。カナックスは、スター選手であるクイン・ヒューズ選手を負傷で欠いていたものの、3-2で辛勝した。
不思議なことに、クイン・ヒューズ選手の弟であるジャック・ヒューズ選手（ニュージャージー・デビルス所属）も怪我をしている。AP通信の報道によると、今シーズンの残り試合を欠場するという。私はこれまで知らなかったが、ヒューズ兄弟はアイスホッケー一家で、もう一人の兄弟であるルーク・ヒューズ選手もNHL選手だそうだ。
On Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, I got up at 9:30 a.m. PST and stayed home all day.
I helped my host mother clean our home and prepare for tomorrow. As I mentioned in this blog before, we have been struggling with ants consistently appearing in the kitchen and bathroom, and we are scheduled to receive ant treatment tomorrow.
The treatment will be done using a spray, so we needed to put away our items from the kitchen and bathroom. Not only our unit but the entire building will be treated. This issue is quite serious.
At night, my host mother and I watched an ice hockey game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Vancouver Canucks on TV. Although Quinn Hughes, a star player for the Canucks, didn’t play due to injury, the Canucks managed to win 3-2.
Strangely, his brother, Jack Hughes, who plays for the New Jersey Devils, is also dealing with an injury. According to an Associated Press report, he is out for the rest of the season.
Through this game and the news, I learned that the Hughes brothers are an ice hockey family. Their other brother, Luke Hughes, is also an NHL player.
