現地時間2025年3月8日（土）、正午に起きた。15時半に家を出て、弓道の練習へ向かった。今日は、トロント・メープルリーフス対コロラド・アバランチ戦と、ダラス・スターズ対エドモントン・オイラーズ戦という注目の試合が2つあったが、練習のためほとんど観られなかった。
今日テレビで観た試合は、ボストン・ブルーインズ対タンパベイ・ライトニング戦。結果は4-0でブルーインズが勝利した。
スコアだけを見るとブルーインズが圧倒したように思えるが、内容は拮抗しているように見えた。今シーズン上位につけている、ライトニングの実力がうかがえる内容だった。
試合を決定づけた、ブルーインズの2点目のゴールの流れはこんな感じだ。Mark Kastelic選手がセンターライン付近から意表を突いたシュートを放ち、相手のゴーリー、Andrei Vasilevskiy選手はシュートを止めきることができなかった。Vasilevskiy選手は一瞬集中を切らしてしまったようだ。テレビの前にいた私もこの時間帯は集中がやや切れており、何が起きたのか、一瞬よく分からなかった。
On Saturday, March 8, 2025, I got up at noon PST and left home at 3:30 p.m. for Japanese archery practice. Although there were two interesting games between competitive teams— the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars vs. the Edmonton Oilers— I almost didn’t watch them due to practice.
The ice hockey game I watched today was between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bruins won 4-0.
Although the score difference makes it seem like the Bruins dominated, I found the game to be close. It’s no surprise that the Lightning hold a high-ranking position in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
The turning point was the Bruins’ second goal. Mark Kastelic, a Bruins forward, took a shot from near the center line at an unexpected moment, and Andrei Vasilevskiy, the Lightning’s goalie, failed to stop the puck, probably because he momentarily lost concentration. Not only he, but I also lost focus for a moment, so I didn’t understand what happened at the moment.
