現地時間2025年3月13日（木）、午前6時に起きた。一日中、家にいた。
今日もテレビでアイスホッケーの試合を観た。ワシントン・キャピタルズとロサンゼルス・キングスの試合だ。リーグ上位につける両チームの一戦は、キングスが3-0で快勝した。
印象に残ったのは、ケビン・フィアラ選手だ。キングスの左ウィングであるフィアラ選手は、第3ピリオドに右サイドから鋭いシュートを決めた。わずか1分も経たないうちに、今度は左サイドからパスを送りアシストを記録した。このほかにも、試合全体を通して目立った活躍をしていた。
フィアラ選手はスイス生まれだ。私は、スイス出身の選手がNHLにいることを今日まで知らなかった。スイス代表はどうやら強豪なよう。国際アイスホッケー連盟の2024年男子世界ランキングでは5位に入っている。ちなみに、このランキングでアメリカは6位だ。

The ice hockey game I watched on TV today was between the Washington Capitals and the Los Angeles Kings. The battle between two high-ranking teams in the league ended in a 3-0 win for the Kings.
The player who impressed me today was Kevin Fiala, the Kings’ left winger. He scored with a quick shot from the right side in the third period. Less than a minute later, he made a pass from the left side that resulted in the Kings’ third goal. Not only these plays but also his other offensive efforts in this game were outstanding.
He is the first Swiss-born player I have recognized. I didn’t know this before, but Switzerland has a strong national team. In fact, according to the International Ice Hockey Federation, it ranked 5th in the 2024 men’s world rankings, while the United States ranked 6th.
