現地時間2025年3月26日（水）、午前8時に起きた。午前10時に家を出てバンクーバー国際空港へ向かった。14時ごろ出発の便で、成田空港へと飛んだ。
日本には一時的な用事で滞在し、今年の5月ごろにバンクーバーへ戻る予定だ。ただし、バンクーバーに戻る日付や、戻った際に住む場所はまだ決めていない。
ホストマザーと一緒に暮らすのは、今日が最後だった。ホストマザーとの生活にだいぶ慣れてきたところだったので、少し寂しい。一緒にアイスホッケーをテレビで観る機会も、もうないだろう。
バンクーバーに来たときはスーツケースを1つしか持っていなかった。日本帰国にあたって、追加で2つ購入した。すなわち、現在は計3つ持っている。日用品を買ったりもらったりしたこと、さらには両親が冬物を送ってくれたことで、追加のスーツケースが必要になった。
3つのスーツケースは、どれもほぼ満杯。本やハロウィンのコスチュームなど一部の荷物は入れることができなかった。
3つのスーツケースのうち2つは飛行機で日本へ運ぶ。残りの1つは、バンクーバーの友人の家に預けている。その友人には日ごろからお世話になっており、感謝の気持ちで一杯だ。
On Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, I got up at 8:00 a.m. PDT. I left home at 10:00 a.m. to go to Vancouver International Airport and boarded a plane around 2:00 p.m. heading to Narita Airport.
I will stay in Japan temporarily for some purposes and return to Vancouver around May. However, I haven’t decided when and where I will stay in Vancouver yet. This means it was my last time living with my host mother. I miss her a little since I recently got used to living with her. I won’t be able to watch ice hockey with her anymore.
Even though I had only one suitcase when I first came to Vancouver, I had to buy and add two more to pack my belongings for my return to Japan. There are two reasons for this: my parents sent me winter items, and I bought or was given various daily necessities. Since all three suitcases were almost full, I couldn’t pack some items, like books and my Halloween costume.
Among the three suitcases I have, two were brought to Japan by plane, while the other one, along with my suit, was stored at a friend’s house in Vancouver. I really appreciate her help.
