2025年3月29日（土）、午前7時すぎに起きた。午前9時ごろに家を出て、友人と会った。その友人とは正午ごろまで一緒に過ごし、昼過ぎからは別の友人と合流した。
彼らと一緒に、東京の弓具店を巡った。主な目的は、私が買う弓を検討するため。バンクーバーで練習していたときは、弓道クラブから弓を借りていた。日本滞在中に練習をするなら、自分の弓を用意する必要がある。
今日印象的だったのは、神田にある小山弓具に外国人が大勢いたことだ。ここの売り場は比較的広いものの、日本人や海外からの客で混みあっていた。来月に名古屋で外国人を対象とした講習会が開催される予定で、その参加者が小山弓具に来ていたのかもしれない。
三田にある長谷川弓具店では、弽や弓について店員が丁寧に説明してくれた。今日は何も買わなかったが、その説明を聞いていたら、ここで購入するのが良いかもしれないと感じた。
On Saturday, March 29th, 2025, I got up after 7:00 a.m. and left home around 9:00 a.m. to hang out with a friend in Tokyo until noon. After that, I met up with another friend in the afternoon and went out with them.
With both friends, I visited shops in Tokyo that sell Japanese archery equipment, as I plan to buy my own bow. When I practiced in Vancouver, I borrowed a bow from the Japanese archery club there. So, if I want to shoot in Japan, I need to get my own.
What impressed me was the number of foreigners at the Koyama shop in Kanda, Tokyo. Even though Koyama is the most spacious shop among the ones I visited today, it was packed with customers from both Japan and abroad. I assume some of them will join the upcoming Japanese archery seminar for foreigners in Nagoya next month.
When I visited another shop called Hasegawa in Mita, the clerk kindly explained Kake (gloves) and bows to me. Although I didn’t buy anything there, the explanation made me interested in getting a Kake and a bow from this shop.
